Study Grants
We offer study grants of up to £1000 for MS-related courses, conferences and towards formal qualifications.
Who is eligible for a study grant?
- Any person employed to work with people affected by MS in Scotland (outwith the MS Society Scotland)
- Anyone who works with people affected by MS who is seeking funding up to, but not exceeding, £1000
Study Grant Priorities
Priority will be given to the following applicants:
- Staff who have not received a study grant from the MS Society Scotland in the past 2 years
- Staff who can demonstrate that they have attempted to obtain funding from at least one other source
- Departments or organisations where only one staff member is attending training
- Staff who are attending training which is MS-specific
- Staff who wish to attend training with non-recurring costs
- Staff who have obtained partial funding for a course or who are able to cover their own transport/accommodation costs
- Staff who can demonstrate that the training will provide them with new skills and/or knowledge
- Staff who have limited access to training opportunities
- Staff living in remote and rural areas
Purpose of Criteria
- To prioritise grant spending so that people affected by MS receive the maximum benefit
- To encourage those working with people affected by MS to develop a special interest in MS
