Starbucks
A number of the Starbucks stores within the Edinburgh area have chosen to support the MS Society Scotland in it's quest to renovate and upgrade the bedrooms at the specialist respite care facility, Leuchie House Teams from Starbucks have already taken part in marathons, and are about to jump from 10,000ft up in the sky, in order to raise much needed funds. You'll find collecting cans in many of the stores around Edinburgh, so when you buy your morning coffee and muffin, be sure to put some of your change into a can to help them in their challenge. During the summer months, some of the Starbucks team got their hands dirty in the woodland walkway at Leuchie House, helping to prepare it for guests to enjoy in the warmer weather. "Our involvement with the Society involves raising money through sponsored events such as a recent marathon event and the possibility of more daring activities such as skydiving and abseiling, as well as through MS collection tins within all of our district’s stores. Aside from raising money, the Starbucks partners also become personally involved with the work of the Society by visiting Leuchie House in North Berwick and helping out with some gardening, DIY and maintenance work. Helping out the Society with funding and handiwork as part of my job brings more enjoyment and satisfaction to the role. It’s good to know that I work for a company that takes community relationships and charitable work seriously. Working with the Society has also greatly improved my knowledge of MS - the condition and the work of the Society, and I am extremely proud knowing that I andthe people I work with are helping the Society work towards its goals.’ CSR Representative, Starbucks, Edinburgh
