MS research on parliamentary agenda

The BBC documentary on MS in Scotland and the Society’s research programme have been praised in a parliamentary motion submitted by John Wilson MSP for Central Scotland:

*S3M-2369 John Wilson: Multiple Sclerosis: Scotland’s Hidden Epidemic—That the Parliament congratulates the BBC producer, Emma Snodgrass, and journalist, Elizabeth Quigley, for the superb documentary, Scotland’s Hidden Epidemic - The Truth about MS, which was screened on BBC One Scotland; welcomes the impact that the programme has had on awareness about multiple sclerosis (MS) in Scotland; endorses the ongoing research work on MS being undertaken by Professor Charles ffrench-Constant and his staff at the Centre for Translational Research in Edinburgh, and by many others at institutions across Scotland, and welcomes the MS Society Scotland’s role in funding this research programme; commends the Scottish Government for its recent commitment of £70,000 to support the start-up costs for a national audit of MS in Scotland, and urges it to pursue all possible options to increase the amount of research on MS being done in Scotland in the future.
