Neurological Alliance of Scotland
The alliance is a collaborative forum representing people with a wide range of neurological conditions in Scotland with the following aims: - To inform and influence policy by bringing the needs of people with neurological conditions to the attention of health and social policy makers and strategists
- To raise awareness and disseminate information about neurological conditions and their impact on individuals and society
- To promote improvements in care for people with neurological conditions
In 2006 work began on developoing NHS standards for services for people with neurological conditions. NHS Quality Improvement Scotland (NHS QIS) is the agency responsible for drawing up the standards, and for ensuring that they are implemented by service providers. The Alliance has been asked to be involved in organising consultations with people affected by neurological conditions.
