How to Volunteer

To find out more about current volunteering opportunities, please check out the volunteer roles section

To apply online please complete and return the Volunteer Application Form below or contact the Volunteering Development Manager on 0131 335 4050 or by e-mail. After you've made contact we'll fix up a time for you to meet with a member of staff and discuss what you can expect as a volunteer.

Volunteer application
If you are interesed in becoming a volunteer with the MS Society Scotland please download and return the volunteering application form at the bottom of this page.

This form will give us some information about the areas that you are interested in and help us to match you to a suitable volunteering opportunity.

You can return the form by email or by post (see address to the right of this page).

The next steps
The next stage is for you to meet one of our staff and have a chat. You’ll discuss why you want to join and we’ll explain in more detail what we expect from our volunteers.

We will be keen to get you started as soon as possible although this will of course depend on your commitments, whatever training is required and the receipt of satisfactory references as well as completion of any necessary checks.

Training
We train all MS Society volunteers, although in some roles there may be more training required than in others. As a volunteer, you will first receive an Induction followed by full training in the skills needed to carry out your role. Read more about volunteer training
