You will find more information on the MS Society website for the UK as a whole. We have included the main links on this page. It can be difficult deciding whether or not to tell your employer you have MS. Once you have been diagnosed with MS, you are covered by the Disability Discrimination Act. This means that if you tell your employer that you have MS, they must make reasonable adjustments to enable you to carry on working. You will find information to help you think about this on the UK site. The Working with MS booklet has really useful information for employees and employers. Citizens Advice Bureau Scotland Independent advice on rights and services. Branches throughout Scotland. See local telephone directory or check their website. Disability Employment Advisers Disability employment advisers are usually based in Jobcentre Plus offices. They can provide specialist support if you are in work or looking for work. They can provide information on schemes like Access to Work which support disabled people in work. Contact through your local Jobcentre Plus. They are usually in the student services or student support department. Open University In Scotland Services for disabled students Skill Scotland National Bureau for students with disabilities. Provides advice and information for people in or considering further or higher education. Information line: 0800 328 5050 Student Awards Agency for Scotland Handles funding for higher education courses for students whose home is in Scotland or who are studying in Scotland, including the Disabled Students Allowance (DSA).
