Funded Research
Projects funded by the MS Society Research is essential to all aspects of the Society's work. It helps us give people with MS evidence-based information to help them manage their condition. It helps professionals to develop their services, and to concentrate on effective treatment and care. And, it feeds directly into the work of the Campaigns and Policy Team helping to set priorities for debate. How do we decide which projects to fund? Our current research investment is 70% basic science and 30% applied science. We are committed to funding basic science, but also, for example, health services research, as these are priorities for people with MS. The Society is currently consulting its members on setting priorities for MS research. It is also developing new mechanisms to enable people with MS to become involved in all aspects of the research funding and management programme. Applying for a research grant Anyone interested in applying for an MS Society research grant has to complete an application form. Each application is reviewed by a panel of experts from related fields. These peer reviewers score and rank the applications. Their recommendations help the MS Society decide which projects to fund and ensure that they are of the highest quality. Read more about applying for a grant on the UK site.
Scottish Research
